Moscow Mufti urged to strengthen work with migrants

Religious and public organizations in Moscow do not have sufficient influence on local migrants; it is necessary “to strengthen the work in this sphere”, said the head of the Spiritual Assembly of Muslims of Russia (SAMR), the capital's mufti Albir Hazrat Krganov.

Reconstruction of cathedral mosque in Nalchik begins

The restoration of the cathedral mosque continues in Nalchik. It is to be renovated for the first time since its opening in 2004. The work will take place both inside and outside the mosque.

According to the chairman of the Muslim Religious Administration of Kabardino-Balkaria, a complete replacement of the heating system is being prepared in the building, as well as cosmetic repairs inside and outside the yard.

 

Dagestan students held an exhibition dedicated to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

Humanitarian-Pedagogical College in Makhachkala held an exhibition of works of design department students. The exhibition was titled as “Dedicated to the Favorite of Allah”. It was a fund-raising charitable initiative and everyone could purchase a favourite work. According to the organizers, a total of 18 paintings were finally sold.

 

Spiritual education of prisoners discussed in Dagestan

Dagestan Muftyiat held a work-shop on the “Methods of interaction with the federal service for the execution of punishments in organizing preventive work with prisoners”.

The event was organized by the Muftiyat of Dagestan with the assistance of the North Caucasus Muslims Coordination Center and the Fund for Support of Islamic Culture, Science and Education.

In his speech Muhammad Magomedov called the fellow-believers to study the life of the Messenger of the Most High ﷺ and observe his Sunnah, as a response to the provocations associated with the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ that are taking place in the world today.

 

Koran learning courses for women started in Tatarstan

Muslim Religious Administration of Tatarstan resumed the work of the second stream of women's express courses “Learning to read the Koran”. They are designed for those who do not know the Arabic alphabet and cannot read the Koran. The second stream of women's express courses started in February 2020, but due to the coronavirus pandemic the classes were suspended.

 

Russia urges to recognize the danger of Islamophobia

Russia is promoting in the OSCE an initiative to recognize Christianophobia and Islamophobia as a dangerous phenomenon, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on October 26 at a meeting with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. Lavrov said that he agreed with Mitsotakis's thesis about the danger of using the “religious card” for geopolitical purposes.

 

Tatarstan Muslims initiated campaign on the birth of the Prophet

Tatarstan Muslims held a promotional campaign dedicated to the month of birth of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺin the Old Tatar settlement of Kazan. During the initiative, Muslim volunteers of the capital handed out booklets with the Prophet’s sermon, which was read during his farewell Hajj.

A leaflet with the text of the khutba in Tatar and Russian was printed by the Khuzur publishing house of Muslim Religious Administration of Tatarstan.
