A historical and long-awaited event in the life of the Russian Muslim community took place in Makhachkala on December 7. Here in the capital of Dagestan Muslims of the region had chance to visit an official presentation of the publication of the translation of Koran’s meanings in Russian language “Kalyam Sharif. The new edition was prepared by Muslim Religious Administration of the Republic of Tatarstan. ⠀

The solemn event gathered the prominent Muslim scholars all over the Russian Federation, as well as public and government figures, scholars, representatives of the media, etc.⠀

Mufti of Dagestan sheikh Ahmad Afandi Abdulaev addressed the audience on behalf of Muslim clergy of the region, “Dear participants of the presentation, today is a special day, because we are first in Russia to see the translation of Koran meanings. We are grateful to the Mufti of the Republic of Tatarstan, Kamil Hazrat, for holding this presentation on our land. This is a great honor for us, and our brothers from Tatarstan showed their respect for Muslims of Dagestan. This speaks not only of the brotherly relations between our peoples, but also the high personal respect of the Mufti of Tatarstan to his ancestors, who occupy a significant place in the history of Dagestan. They are Zaynulla Rasulev and  Muhammad-Zakir Chistavi” concluded the mufti.
