Tatarstan Muslim community celebrates Mawlid al-Nabi

Series of events “Heritage of the Ancestors”dedicated to Mawlid al-Nabi started in Kazan on October 30. The first holiday was organized by the efforts of the Dagestan community in Kazan, Muslim Religious Administration of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Muftiate of the Republic of Dagestan.

The Mawlid festival began with a reading of the verses of the Holy Quran performed by Ilyas Sabirov, the winner of the IX All-Russian competition of readers and hafiz of the Quran.

Further, the first deputy mufti of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustem Hazrat Valiullin greeted the participants of the event on behalf of the Mufti of the republic and the entire Tatarstan ummah: “According to tradition, in the month of Rabi-ul-Awwal, many Muslims in the world hold events on the occasion of Mawlid al-Nabi. The birth of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺwas one of the greatest and most significant events in the history of Islam. Events dedicated to Mawlid contribute to the knowledge of the Messenger of Allah, and strengthen love and respect for him. May Allah reward each of us with His Grace and allow us to live, adhering to the Most Holy Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ!”

 

The first deputy mufti of Dagestan Abdullah Adzhimollayev congratulated the guests on the upcoming Mawlid al-Nabi. He presented a special gift for the Mufti of the Republic of Tatarstan, Kamil Hazrat Samigullin - the book of Ibn Hajar Al Khaitami “Tuhfat al-Mukhtaj”.

The Mawlid festival was followed by the speeches and sermons of famous scholars-theologians, creative performances, Nasheeds, and a quiz.

Representatives of the Dagestan community expressed gratitude to the mufti of Tatarstan for the help in organizing the holiday.

 

The next Majlis on coming of Mawlid al-Nabi was organized yesterday by the parishioners of the Kazan Gailya mosque. Firstly Imam Khatyb of the mosque Rustam Hazrat Khayrullin made a sermon on the virtues of Mawlid. Then people's artist of Tatarstan, professor Mingol Galiev, famous performers Ilyas Khalikov and Vali Fazliakhmetov, as well as Quran-hafiz Nurmukhammat Sharipov delivered salavats and performed munajats.
