The Center for the Reconciliation of the warring parties transferred charitable assistance from the government of the Tula region to the residents of Syria, RIA Novosti reports. According to the head of the centre Yury Borenkov, 400 kg of honey and 400 packages of gingerbread were given out in the village of Baamrail in the Tartus province.
A total of 1.5 thousand food packages were handed over to the Syrians with a total weight of 8.59 tons. Borenkov added that the Russian military police continued to patrol the Syrian-Turkish border.
It was reported earlier that Russian military doctors would spend the day helping children in the province of Aleppo. Over the past few days, hundreds of parents of young children asked for the help of military doctors.
The staff of the Center distributed school supplies to students of one of the Syrian schools as well. Children received backpacks and office supplies for the entire school year, as well as pencil cases, paints and plasticine.
