Mufti of Moscow Ildar Alyautdinov took part in the First International Muslim Youth Forum in Abu Dhabi. “At the forum I noted that global change begins with a change in oneself. A true leader should always be on the path to self-development and self-improvement”, Ildar Alyautdinov told RIA Novosti.

The Moscow Mufti also drew attention of the forum participants to the problems of integration and assimilation of Muslims. “It is important to be able to distinguish between these two concepts. Integration should not cause assimilation when a person loses his distinctive features, and dissolves in a foreign culture”, Alyautdinov said. He also added that fraternity, mutual assistance and respect should be an integral part of the Muslim Ummah.

The youth forum brought together more than 250 delegates from around the world, including well-known theologians, politicians, scientists and businessmen.
