The construction of a mosque in Chernogorsk started on this week. It will become the second Muslim place of worship in Khakassia. Mayor Vasily Belonogov reported on the event on social networks on August 3: “Today I visited the beginning of the construction of the Muslim Mosque, where representatives of the Islamic diasporas laid the first brick of the future building. The doors of the Mosque will be open not only for Muslims living in Chernogorsk, but also for all guests.”

The chairman of the local Muslim community, Rashid Arsenbekov, said that about 100 million rubles would be spent on the construction of the mosque. They plan to receive money from patrons.

The building will be located on an area of ​​1.5 hectares. It will accommodate 200 people, but prayers will also take place outside.

Today, more than 2 thousand Tatars live in Chernogorsk. Believers plan to come here for the first prayer this year, according to MK in Khakassia.

It should be noted that this is the second mosque in the republic. The first one has been under construction in Abakan for several years.
