Muslims of Crimea donate generously

Spiritual Administration of the Muslims of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol organised a fund raising charity project "Merhametlik-2018" ("Mercy") from Ramadan 2017 until July 30, 2018.
During that period, within the framework of the project, over three million rubles (USD52000) were distributed to the family and friends of seriously ill children and those in need of material assistance.
Within the year, some 193 people turned to the Muftiyat for help, those needing urgent medical treatment and material assistance were given priority in distributing the funds.
Today, another 85 people received financial assistance. On average, each applicant received from 5 to 40 thousand rubles (USD80-640), depending on the severity of the disease and the cost of treatment.
The mufti of Crimea, Emirali Ablaev, addressing the audience noted that only the unity of the people will help to overcome difficulties on their way.
"Our one common dream is that our children do no get sick. We pray to the Almighty to lessen the number of those who need help. Do not save grievances, do not keep evil in your heart, trust in the Almighty, because both illness and healing is from Him. As long as the Muftiate exists, as long as there is Spiritual Administration of the Crimean Muslims, the Merhametlik project will continue, and we will do everything possible so that no one is left without help. We thank our compatriots who do not remain indifferent to the destinies of other people, who respond to others' misfortunes," the Mufti of Crimea said.
The Spiritual Board of Muslims of Crimea continues to receive donations for the "Merhametlik" project to raise funds for seriously ill children. Starting from 2009 to the present, some 17349009 rubles (USD276400) have been collected within the framework of the project. Most of the funds were transferred to the treatment of seriously ill children.
