Muslim Religious Administration of the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol announced the suspension of Friday and collective prayers in mosques of Crimea, as well as any educational events until April 30, 2020. These measuers were taken by the Muslim clergy due to the spread of Сovid-19 (coronavirus)
In addition, until April 30, 2020, by the order of the Mufti of Crimea, the holding of traditional religious rituals - duas, rituals of naming and nikah (marriage) was cancelled as well. Concerning funeral ceremonies, the clergy urged them to be carried out as briefly as possible, in compliance with all safety rules, without physical contact and handshakes.
The imams were asked to encourage the fellow believers not to hold the abovementioned activities involving collective participation of many people, as well as regularly carry out the measures to prevent the disease.
The order of the Mufti of Crimea applies throughout the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol and is valid until April 30, 2020. If necessary, the Order will be extended.
