Mufti Kamil Samigullin: Russian pilgrims on the Hajj feel as at home

Medina, July 4, 2022

Russian Muslim pilgrims who arrived in Mecca and Medina pray for the well-being of Russia and their fellow citizens.

“Muslims of Russia, who arrived in Saudi Arabia to perform the hajj, are now in the sacred for every Muslim cities of Mecca and Medina. We pray for the well-being of our country, fellow believers and all Russians. We pray to the Almighty to give us patience and strength,” Mufti of Tatarstan Kamil Samigullin told RIA Novosti.

He noted that pilgrims from Russia are treated with respect, and that is due to the benevolent relations and strong mutual assistance between Saudi Arabia and Russia.

“People here know a lot about our country. Perhaps because delegations from the Russian Federation constantly participate in many forums organized in Saudi Arabia. For example, the visit of the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and his meetings with the top leadership of Saudi Arabia prompted the Saudis to recognize the Russian Sputnik V vaccine for our pilgrims,” Samigullin responded approvingly.
