Muslims of the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) celebrated one of the most revered holidays in Islam - Eid al-Adha. About 200 believers gathered in the Luhansk Cathedral Mosque this year, Islam.ru website reports.
After reading the Koran and performing a festive prayer, the chairman of the Centralized Religious Organization “Muslim Religious Administration of the LPR” (member of the Spiritual Assembly of Muslims of Russia), the imam of the Luhansk Cathedral Mosque, Mufti of the LPR, Eldar-hazrat Gambarov addressed the believers.
The Mufti called on all Muslims of the Republic to strive for spiritual purity, to live in peace and harmony with their neighbors, to take care not of material values, but of imperishable spiritual goods, to remain faithful to the shrines of Islam under any circumstances.
After the prayer and the sermon, all participants of the holiday were invited to treat themselves to pilaf, fragrant tea and sweets.
The head of the LPR, Leonid Pasechnik, congratulated Muslims on Eid al-Adha on his Telegram channel as well.
“I warmly and cordially congratulate all Muslims of the Republic on Eid al-Adha! On this day, believers are driven by the best aspirations - making sacrifices, distributing alms, everyone takes care of those who need help - the sick, the elderly, the poor,” said the head of the LPR .
He stressed that “Muslims, asserting Islam as a religion of peace and goodness, contribute to the preservation and strengthening of interethnic and interfaith stability in the Luhansk People’s Republic.”
“From the bottom of my heart I wish all of you: may Allah hear your prayers, give your houses earthly and heavenly blessings and keep your happiness! May your holiday be blessed!” - added Pasechnik.
