Grozny hosted the final of the Republican contest for the best reciter of the Koran, dedicated to the 71st anniversary of the birth of the First President of the Chechen Republic, Hero of Russia Akhmat haji Kadyrov.

As guests of honor, the event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Chechen Republic Asvad Kharekhanov, the head of the department for work with religious associations of the department Ayub Asaev and the director of Republican complex of general and additional education “Kvant” Abdul Akhyadov.

The jury members judged the contestants on a 100-point scale. The main emphasis was on grammar and pronunciation, Chechnya Today reports.

According to the results of the competition, Israpil Israpilov won the first place, Akhmed Munaev was awarded the second place, and Magomed Abdukarimov got the well-deserved third place. The participants received certificates and cash rewards from the Regional Public Fund named after the Hero of Russia Akhmat Kadyrov.

The organizer of the religious and educational competition was the Center for the Creative Development of Children “Sphere” together with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Chechen Republic.
