The International Muslim Movie Festival is to be held in Kazan in September next year. This was announced by the head of the public relations department of “Tatarkino” Zufar Davletshin at the press-conference dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the organization of movie production and distribution in the TASSR (Tatarstan Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic).

“Muslim Movie Festival is to be held next year from September 4 to 9, and the requests to take part in the festival are to be accepted on December 15”, Davletshin said.

According to Tatar-inform, this year the International Muslim Movie Festival was held in April and was timed to the international economic summit “Russia - Islamic World: KazanSummit.”

The organizers of the festival are the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan municipality and the Council of Muftis of the Russian Federation. Films of domestic and world cinema calling for tolerance, peace and justice are selected for the festival program.
