According to the mayor of Kazan, Ilsur Metshin, an architectural community in conjunction with the Muslim Religious Administration of Tatarstan is to select territory for the construction of the Cathedral Mosque in the capital of Tatarstan.

“Today our architectural community together with Muslim Religious Administration of Tatarstan is considering several areas for the construction of Cathedral Mosque. And I think that in the near future we will find appropriate place”, told the mayor during the final press conference on Wednesday, December 25.

Kamil Iskhakov, assistant to the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Chairman of the Board of Founders of the Bolgarian Islamic Academy, was previously appointed responsible for the implementation of the Cathedral Mosque project, reports news agency “Kazan Reporter”.

The official representative of the Kazan Kremlin Liliya Galimova told that the Turkish experience is to be used in the construction of the Cathedral Mosque.
