The chairman of Muslim Religious Administration of Karachay-Cherkessia, Ismail-Haji Berdiev, urged Muslims to keep the regime of self-isolation during the holy month of Ramadan. The mufti noted that due to pandemic all congregational prayers in mosques were temporarily canceled. He encouraged fellow believers to pray at home with their families. “I hope that together we manage to stop the spread of coronavirus infection and by the end of the holy month we will be able to gather for a holiday prayer”, said the mufti.
Berdiev reminded the believers that fasting in the month of Ramadan is a mandatory requirement for Muslims. “It is very important to pay more attention to the spiritual values: to pray, read the Koran, do charity work, make donations, do good deeds, help people around you and those who have difficulties now”.
Ismail-Haji mentioned the volunteers as well, these courageous people who help the elderly and sick during the self-isolation regime. He wished them energy and health, as well as thanked the doctors for their work, noting how much responsibility they have today.
