Government officials, Dagestani clergy, Institute staff and students, Sadikov's friends and colleagues from other Universities, some 500 participants gathered in multi-purpose convention hall in Southern building of the Institute.

Dagestani Mufti Ahmad-Haji Abdulaev in his welcoming speech said that Maksud Sadikov has done everything possible for the prosperity not only of Dagestan but also of overall Russia. "Take example from Maksud Haji, be proactive the way he was and spare no effort in striving for the prosperity of Islam,” he said addressing the students.

Among the invited guests were the chairman of “Sayid Muhammad-Haji Abubakarov Foundation” Khasmuhammad-Haji Abubakarov, rector of the Dagestan State Institute of National Economy Yahya Buchaev, deputy of the National Assembly of RD Magomedkhan Aratsilov, chairman of the Committee for the Religious Affairs Ahmed Magomedov and others.

He suggested making October the 6th Maksud Sadikov commemoration day, a suggestion that was warmly accepted by other Universities participated in the event.
