The first groups of pilgrims from Tatarstan went on a Hajj

Kazan, June 27, 2022

The first two groups of Tatarstan pilgrims set off for the Hajj from Kazan International Airport named after Gabdulla Tukay late at night on June 26, Islam.ru reports. Groups of 98 people in total went to the holy places along the route Kazan - Istanbul (by plane), Istanbul - Jeddah (by plane), Jeddah - Mecca (by bus). The pilgrims will return to their homeland on July 21 along the Medina-Istanbul-Kazan route.

This year Saudi Arabia determined the following requirements for the pilgrims: the age of the pilgrims should not exceed 65 years; they must have a 10-year biometric passport with an expiration date of at least 6 months on the date of travel; to be vaccinated with the Sputnik V vaccine and pass a PCR test before the trip. The current pilgrimage season is also different in that it falls on the hottest time of the year - from June 27 to July 20.

The first two groups of pilgrims will perform the Hajj under the guidance of the teachers of the Muhammadiya Madrasa Zulfat Hazrat Gabdullin and Airat Hazrat Yarullin. The leaders of the groups were selected based on the experience of performing the Hajj and Umrah, knowledge of the Arabic language and Sharia sciences.

Each group, having reached the holy places, will first of all perform Umrah. In 2022, the big Hajj will tentatively begin on July 7 (the 8th day of the month of Zul-hijja). On this day, the pilgrims will go to the Mina Valley and, performing actions according to the Sunnah, they will read the midday, afternoon, evening, night and morning prayers there. On the 9th day of the month of Zul-hijja, after the morning prayer, they will head to Arafat and spend the whole day in worship.
