The Council of Ulema of the Muslim Religious Administration of the Russian Federation decided to hold the Eid al-Adha holiday prayer in Moscow only in the Moscow Cathedral Mosque without parishioners, due to the epidemiological situation. The decision to hold the festive prayer in other regions of the country will be taken by the local Muslim communities, Islam.ru website reports.
“According to the recommendations of Rospotrebnadzor, as well as the decree of the Moscow Government, in connection with the threat of the spread of a new coronavirus infection (2019-nCoV), the holiday prayer in Moscow will be held only in the Cathedral Mosque with the participation of imams, muezzins and deputy mufti. Other mosques and local religious organizations of Muslims are recommended not to carry out the festive prayer as well,” says the theological conclusion, which the deputy chairman of the council, the mufti of Moscow, Ildar Alyautdinov published on his Telegram channel on Sunday.
