Mufti of Dagestan Sheikh Ahmad Afandi is awarded the Order of Friendship of the Russian Federation. It is stated in the decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on awarding state awards, which is published on the portal of legal information.

The Order was awarded to the Mufti of the Republic of Dagestan "for his services in preserving and developing spiritual and cultural traditions, and active work aimed at strengthening friendship between peoples," the decree says.

The Order of Friendship was also awarded to the Chairman of the Council of Jewish Communities of the Dagestan Republic Valery Dibiyaev.
