Crimean Muftiyat helps COVID-19 patients

Sevastopol, January 19, 2022

Muslim Religious Administration of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol together with a group of Crimean entrepreneurs granted 15 districts of the republic with oxygen concentrators.

In particular, oxygen concentrators were given to the mosques of the following districts: Nizhnegorsky, Sovetsky, Simferopolsky, Razdolnensky, Kirovsky, Krasnogvardeisky, as well as to the central mosques of the cities Simferopol, Evpatoria, Saki, Feodosia, Krasnoperekopsk, Dzhankoy. Oxygen concentrators are also available in the central mosque of Belogorsk and the mosque of Pervomaisky district.

The initiative of the Muftiyat of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol and Crimean entrepreneurs was due to the continuing increase in the incidence of coronavirus infection and the number of cases of severe disease.

“The pandemic situation is still tense; our compatriots turn to our district imams for help. The imams, in turn, turned to the Muftiyat. The initiative was supported by Crimean entrepreneurs,” said Deputy Mufti of Crimea and Sevastopol Raim Gafarov.

These oxygen concentrators are designed to treat COVID-19 patients who need respiratory support.

The issuance of oxygen concentrators for temporary use at home is carried out on the basis of a doctor’s recommendation or an extract from the hospital, which indicates that the patient needs oxygen therapy.

To obtain an oxygen concentrator, a relative or other representative of a patient with COVID-19 may contact the regional imam. To conclude an agreement on the temporary use of the concentrator, one must have a passport.
