The International Scientific and Educational Conference “The Spiritual Heritage of Muslim Theologians in the Context of the Problems of the 21st Century” is to be held in Dagestan on November 11. The event is organized by the Dagestan Institute of Humanities and Saint-Petersburg State University with the support of the Muftiate of the Republic of Dagestan.

The conference is aimed at discussing issues of the main trends of world Islamic theological thought in the 21st century, as well as the modern situation of Muslim theology in Russia. The experts will also consider Muslim intellectual heritage in establishing interfaith and intercultural dialogue, as well as preserving the written spiritual heritage of Muslim theologians and its development as a current direction of humanitarian science, etc.

The conference includes the following sections:

• The life and heritage of Muslim theologians of Russia;

• Muslim theology in Russia: history of development and look at the contemporary problems of mankind;

• Conceptual problems raised in the writings of Russian Islamic theologians in different historical periods;

• The Russian state and Muslim thinkers of our time: ways of relationships and way of further cooperation;

• Modern domestic Muslim theology as a factor of the spiritual security of Russia;

• The influence of the media on the spiritual and moral development of society;

• The role of spiritual heritage in the Russian information field and world media.
