The Central Juma Mosque of the Dagestan capital hosted the final stage of the Republican competition for the best Azan reciter.
Some 120 competitors from all over the Republic took part in the qualifying stage of the competition, based on the results of which more than 20 participants reached the final.
The finalists were judged by a competent jury of experts in the field of Azan and Koran recitation.
Deputy Mufti of Dagestan Muhammad Mayranov addressing the guests and participants of the event spoke about the great companion Bilal, who was the first to pronounce the azan.
“I ask the Almighty that each of you, reciting the azan, remembered the Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him), and put himself in his place, as if the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) hears his recitation, so that everyone with trembling in his heart tried to understand how Bilal felt at that moment.”
The event finished with an award ceremony. Based on the results of the final stage, Muhammadnabi Butaev became the winner of the Republican competition. The second and third places were taken by Magomedarif Magomedov and Magomed Rasulov. The winners were awarded cash prizes.
