Kuzbass, August 19, 2022
One of the oldest mosques in Kuzbass, built in 1884, is located in the village of Teplaya Rechka, Izhmorsky District, Kemerovo Region.
The date was established when documents were found in the archives about the appeal of local residents to Emperor Alexander II with a request to build a new mosque on the site of the burnt old one dating back to 1845.
In the Soviet years, the minaret tower was demolished, and a village club was organized in the mosque building, then a warehouse for fertilizers and agricultural products, as a result of which the mosque, left without proper care, fell into disrepair.
In 2019, due to an emergency, the mosque had to be dismantled.
Local residents decided to restore an exact copy of this mosque. On the first stage of the construction they prepared the working documentation and today the they are laying the foundation.
Anyone wishing to take part in the restoration of the mosque can contact the chairman of the local Muslim religious organization Muslimov Anvar Fizzatulovich, the press office of the Spiritual Assembly of Muslims of Russia reports.
