The All-Russian traditional archery tournament “Tugan Batyr” to be held for the first time in Tatarstan, Islam.ru reports, The tournament dedicated to the 1100th anniversary of the adoption of Islam in the Volga Bolgaria to take place on July 22-24, 2022 at the Yelabuga settlement on the territory adjacent to the ancient Bolgar mosque of the 10th century.

Guests of the city will have the opportunity to enjoy the beauties of nature and plunge into the atmosphere of antiquity, as well as to live in a tent camp.

Now the organizers are accepting applications for the All-Russian traditional archery tournament “Tugan Batyr”. To date, 42 archers from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Izhevsk, Bashkortostan, N. Chelnov, Yelabuga, Almetyevsk, Kazan have expressed their desire to take part in the tournament.

Tugan batyr is the image of a Tatar hero who carries and gives the world human values ​​and the heritage of the people.

Organizers of the tournament are Muslim Religious Administration of the Republic of Tatarstan, Muslim community of the city of Yelabuga and the Yelabuga region, Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan, Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, Administration of Yelabuga, Tugan Avylym National Complex in Kazan, the organization for the development of equestrian sports - mounted shooting and shooting from the traditional bow of the Republic of Bashkortostan “Mergen uksy”; men’s sports club “MAKSAT”, Yelabuga; Yelabuga State Museum-Reserve; Archery Federation of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The competition will be held in VIII stages: warm-up, biathlon, attack, shooting at speed, shooting from the knee, shooting from the front stance, Turkish put.

The prizes in the nomination foot shooting are to be given separately for men, women and children.

As part of the tournament, both guests and participants will be able to see the origins of the Ancient Bolgar civilization, feel the power of the reign of the famous Bolgarian Emir Ibrahim I Muhammad, as well as see ancient fortifications and defensive ramparts, taste delicious dishes cooked on live fire and perform a collective prayer within the walls of an ancient mosque.
