Baroness Warsi resigns over Gaza conflict

The senior Foreign Office minister Baroness Warsi has resigned over David Cameron's stance on the Gaza conflict.

Announcing her resignation this morning, the former Chair of the Conservative Party said that she had written to the Prime Minister "and tendered [her] resignation".

135,000 Palestinians displaced by Israel's ground invasion

Human rights sources confirmed yesterday that the continued Israeli ground offensive in the Gaza Strip has displaced nearly 135,000 Palestinians and destroyed thousands of homes.

The Euro-Mid Observer For Human Rights released a preliminary report on the Israeli attack on the besieged Gaza Strip, it includes details up to the thirteenth day of the aggression saying Israel's random bombardment of border areas in the Gaza Strip has forced thousands of Palestinians to flee their homes and that until Saturday evening more than 135,000 Palestinians had been displaced.

Gaza is running out of medicine

The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza has warned of a crisis of medicine shortage in the besieged Gaza Strip, saying the enclave is running out of all types of medicines.

Ashraf al-Qidra, Gaza’s Health Ministry spokesman, said in a statement issued on Tuesday that nearly 600 types of basic medicines and medical equipment have already run out. The spokesman further warned that more than 150 other types of medical supplies are expected to finish in the coming few weeks.

Mahmoud Habbash, PA minister of religious affairs, said the decision is a step towards breaking Israel's siege of the city's Islamic and Christian holy sites.
