Kazakhstan to launch three satellites into space

Kazakh National Space Agency (KazCosmos) announced on Thursday that it would launch three satellites into space in 2014.

One of the devices sent to space is for telecommunication to allow transmission to remote regions, whereas the other two will be remote sensing satellites, according to a statement by KazCosmos.

 

Kazakhstan Offers Kyrgyzstan Jointly Use KazSat

In a excellent step of cooperation between the two Muslim-majority nations, Kazakhstan has offered Kyrgyzstan to use its KazSat communication satellites together,Tengrinews reports referring the official website of the National Space Agency of Kazakhstan KazKosmos.

Besides offering the joint use of the communication and broadcasting satellites Kazakhstan offered Kyrgyzstan to rent some of the geostationary satellites' capacity. The proposal on the joint use was made at the 4th session of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan Intergovernmental Counsel that took place on November 1 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

 

Kazakhstan Approves Tougher Religion Law

ASTANA - Ignoring international criticisms, Kazakhstan's upper house of parliament (Senate) approved on Thursday, September 29, tougher laws on religious activity in the Central Asian state.

Under the new law, prayer rooms will be banned in state institutions, Reuters reported.

It requires the review all religious literature and the mandatory annual registration of all foreign missionaries, who can be expelled if deemed to pose a threat to the "constitutional order and public peace".
