The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and the Status of Women

By Ibrahim H. Malabari / 17 Jan 2013

Recently, we have witnessed instances of the horrific treatment of women around the world.

In the time of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), similar cruel practices were enacted by his society and he (peace and blessings be upon him) opposed all such forms of oppressing women.

Indeed, at the sight of a tragedy of any human being, Prophet Muhammad’s heart would be saddened and his eyes would flow with tears.

بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم

What to say when hearing the adhan (call to prayer)

1. The Sunnah recommends that while the adhan is being called, one should listen attentively and repeat every line silently after the Mu'adhdhin (the one who calls the adhan), but when he says "Hayya 'alas-Salah" and "Hayya 'ala-l-falah" "حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلاَةِ وَحَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلَاحِ" one should say:

La hawla wa la quwwata illa billahه لا حولا ولا قوّة إلّا باللّه
(There is no might or power except with ALLAH)

Islamic economics and its comprehension

By Mohammed Al Balushi | Oman Observer | 25 Apr 2012

Economics, regardless of whether it is micro economics or a macro, is a subject which needs to be understood from the roots to its branches. Economic is the subject which does not differ from one religion to another. It is a subject which fits all societies. It is the need of all human beings.

Wise sayings and general rules taken from the Quran, Sunnah, and words of Muslim wise men.

“Give to the one who denied you.”

"Love the poor and mix with them."

“Stay with her (the mother), for Paradise is under her feet.”

"If you want to count the faults of anyone else, count your own faults instead."

“Pay the hired worker his wages before his sweat dries.”

“The best charity is that given by one who has little.”

“The upper hand (the one that gives) is better than the lower hand (the one that takes).”
