By Dr. Mohammed Rateb Nabulsi / 2 Feb 2013

1-Conveying the Divine Shari’ah (Islamic law) to people:

The first mission among the Prophet’smissions is to convey the Divine Shari’ah to people, Allah says:

(O Messenger (Muhammad)! Proclaim (the Message) which has been sent down to you from your Lord. And if you do not, then you have not conveyed His Message. Allah will protect you from mankind. Verily, Allah guides not the people who disbelieve.) [Surat Al Maida, 5:67]

1. After relating Abu Lahab’s relief on setting Thuwaibha free, Hadrat Maulana Shah Abdul Haq Dehlvi in his famous book Madarij an-Nabuwwah says:

“This event provides a clear proof to those who celebrate Milad Sharif by rejoicing and alms giving on the night of the birth of the holy Prophet (SallAllahu Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam), People of Makkah gather on 12th Rabi al-Awwal to is it the house in which the Prophet (SallAllahu Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam) was born.

The Kindness of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)

By Ali Zohery / 2 Feb 2013

The Prophet Muhammad taught love, kindness and compassion to his people, and was seen to be the most loving, kind, and compassionate of all of them. The Quran mentions his kind and gentle behavior in these words: “O Messenger of Allah! It is a great Mercy of God that you are gentle and kind towards them; for, had you been harsh and hard-hearted, they would all have broken away from you” (Quran 3:159).

Girl child From the Life of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

By Syed Hamid Mohsin / 1 Feb 2013

“On the Day of Judgment ‘When the infant girl buried alive is asked,’ for what crime she was killed.”(Quran, 81:8-9)

Children are gifts of God and His great blessing, but the birth of a girl child is generally seen as disgraceful. The son is preferred over a daughter.  This is totally against the teachings of Islam.

Many incidents reported these days from various parts of the world give us the impression that we, at least in terms of the treatment of women, are going back to a time identical to the ignorance period, the age before the emergence of Prophet Muhammad .

Prophet Muhammad: A True Role Model

Source : IslamOnline / 1 Feb 2013

In the early years of Muhammad’s (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prophethood there was fierce persecution at the hands of the polytheists of Makkah. The holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and the new Muslims suffered terribly from chastisement, ridicule, slander, an unjust boycott and physical torture. In spite of this, the holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) remained steadfast, patient and took a non-reproachful attitude throughout those 14 years.

Message and Method of the Holy Prophet (pbuh)

By Abdul Wahid Hamid / 31 Jan 2013

Some of the major aspects of the mission and method of Prophet Muhammad  are eloquently presented in a speech which one of his companions, Jafar ibn abi Taalib, made to the Christian ruler of Abyssinia in Africa in the year 616 CE. Jafar was the spokesman of a group of early Muslims who had sailed across the Red Sea and sought asylum in Abyssinia from the persecution of the pagan Makkans:

"0 King,"he said, “We were a people steeped in ignorance, worshipping idols, eating the flesh of dead animals, committing abominations, neglecting our relations and ill-treating our neighbors, and the strong among us would oppress the weak”.

Excellence manners of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)

By Professor Shahul Hameed / 31 Jan 2013

Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was always cheerful, genial, and pleasant-tempered. He (peace and blessings of  Allah be upon him) was never rude or rough. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) only spoke things that brought rewards from Allah Almighty. When he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) spoke, the listeners would listen to his words with attention. They did not feel any inclination to engage him in heated arguments. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would always show patience with a stranger’s roughness of manners or harshness at talk. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to say,

"When you see a person seeking an object earnestly, assist him to get his need."(Al-Baihaqi)

Prophet Muhammad's (pbuh) Care for The Poor

Source: Islamstory.com / 29 Jan 2013

Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, feared for his nation from surplus more than he feared from poverty:

“By Allah, it is not poverty about which I fear for you, but I fear in your case that (the worldly) riches may be given to you as were given to those who had gone before you, and that you begin to vie with one another for them as they vied for them, and that they may destroy you as they destroyed them.”(Al-Bukhari).

The Prophet (pbuh) of the Little Ones Too

By Staff - Al-Jumuah / 29 Jan 2013

The Success Of guidebooks such as  Supernanny and  How To Speak So That Kids will Listen and Listen So That Kids Will Speak attest to the need parents have for advice, techniques, and direction in learning how to become effective parents. Different eras and divergent groups may debate the best way to raise children. But Muslims can look to the sunnah for the example the Prophet, sallallahu alayhe wa sallam, left us, both as a parent and a murabbi (moral mentor).
