Patience, Perseverance, and Prayer

By Huda, About.com Guide

During times of deep trial, despair, and sadness, Muslims seek comfort and guidance in the words of Allah in the Qur'an. Allah reminds us that all people will be tried and tested in life, and calls upon Muslims to bear these trials with "patient perseverance and prayer."

Killing Time Is Killing Yourself

Our life is measured by the number of breaths.

My dear brothers, today, I think, it is best to remember and reflect on the most important thing we have today – on time, its transience and its preciousness. What is the most precious thing you have? Someone might reply, it is their children, property, house, relatives, etc. But in fact the most precious thing for us after the grace of Islam is time. If we are unaware of that, we must learn and understand it, and remember it every day.

Why is Salah/Prayer so Important?

By Muhammadrasul Saaduev : Imam of Central Jum`ah Mosque | Makhachkala | 02 Sept 2011

The Man who Broke the Connection with the Creator is Unreliable.

There is a connection between each of us and the Creator. This is the connection that determines our destiny, our success in this world, our well-being, both in this world and in the Eternal one. The break of this connection will bring chaos into society; man will regress, commit crime and pass the limits set by Allah.

What is the connection and how to find it? It is through Salah, prescribed by the Almighty. If this connection is strong, infallible, the slave is always with his Creator. He will do well both in this world and in the Eternal life. And he will be rescued from adversity and misery in this world and from the punishment on the Judgment Day.

About tested method for successful resolution of cases

Muhyiddin Ibn al-`Arabi, (May God purify his heart!) said:

"If anyone is in need of something, let him read surah “al-Fatiha" forty times after evening prayer and two raka`ats of optional (Ratiba) prayer".
