Study Finds that Halal Meat is Contaminated With Pork

By Rose Eveleth / / 24 Jan 2013

Halal meat is supposed to adhere to strict religious rules, but a new study suggests it isn’t quite so spotless. By now, it might come as no surprise to you that a lot of the meat you see and eat isn’t exactly as advertised. Whether it’s horse meat in Ikea’s meatballs, or fox meat in China’s donkey, more and more flesh is coming with surprises.

Muslims & Christmas- Etiquettes and rulings

"Even most practicing Christians don't celebrate Christmas
(they believe the birth of Isa [a.s] to be in Spring/summer)
but some so called "Muslims" are trying to be more Christian than even the Christians sadly..."

Christmas or New year is a testing time for Muslims, we have a lot to put up with the "modern Muslim" who encourage us to compromise our faith.
May Allah keep us strong, Ameen.

The door of mercy is opened for those who supplicate to Allah

Source : / 18 Dec 2013

Ibn Umar reported (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever among you opens the door of supplication, then the door of mercy is opened for him. Allah is not asked for anything more beloved to Him than to be asked for well-being.”

And the Prophet said,“Supplication brings benefit to what occurs and does not occur. O servants of Allah, you must supplicate.”

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Islam calls us to be responsible to our community and to work hard to provide benefit to others, rather than relying upon begging for charity.

Is the Masjid’s Carpet a Sutrah?

Source : / 4 Dec 2013

As-salamu ‘alaykum. In a masjid, we quite often have carpets that have musallas to demarcate an individual’s prayer space in the carpet design itself. Can this ‘musalla’ be considered as a sutra or is it still recommended to place something in front of one? Wasalam.

Keeping People’s Faults a Secret

By Adil Salahi / 18 Nov 2013

God’s Messenger, Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Whoever sees a defect in a Muslim and overlooks it is like one who saves a young girl who has been buried alive.”

(Related by Al-Bukhari in Al-Adab Al-Mufrad and Ahmad).

Out of Egypt: The Story of Passover in the Quran

By Shahul Hameed / 12 Nov 2013

Many Jews may be surprised to learn that Islam as preached by Muhammad (peace be upon him) was the same religion preached by Abraham, as well as of all other prophets mentioned in the Torah and the Bible.

Muslims honor all the prophets of the Jews – Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, David and Solomon among others – as their own prophets.

Marrying One With Who Suckled Less than Five Times?

Source : / 09 Nov 2013

Assalam o Alicum, I would like to ask the imam sahib a question about the rule of breastfeeding which makes a person a mehram. My first cousin and I would like to get married but the issue is that he was breastfed by my mother, who is his aunt. I have read numerous views on this issue. Some scholars believe that one suckling is enough to make a person mehram and others believe that the suckling or breastfeeding session should be five or more times within the first two years of a childs life to make him a mehram. Since he was only fed once by my mother, can we get married? I would truly appreciate if you can share your findings with me on this issue.
