Judgement Day

Don't Seek Happiness Where It Cannot Be Found

Source : Sacred-Texts / 03 Jun 2014

Whoever will seriously contemplate the past eternity during which the world was not in existence, and the future eternity during which it will not be in existence, will see that it is essentially like a journey, in which the stages are represented by years, the leagues by months, the miles by days, and the steps by moments. What words, then, can picture the folly of the man who endeavours to make it his permanent abode, and forms plans ten years ahead regarding things he may never need, seeing that very possibly he may be under the ground in ten days!

Maximize Use of Your Time With These Tips From the Seerah

Source : Taha Ghayyur / Productivemuslim.com / 24 Jan 2014

Time is limited. Death is certain. However, our intention to live a productive life and to serve Allah  and His creation will itself be enough to count as a positive action.

If you study the seerah (life of Prophet Muhammad) with specific focus on his daily and regular routines, it is an eye-opener. How meticulous he was in planning every aspect of his day; how he prioritized tasks; how serious he was about keeping his word and how he kept his speech precise and not indulging in idle talk. He was the best of creation, Khayru-l-Khalq, and it is natural we should learn from his example. Below are five lessons on time-management that we can draw from the Prophet’s (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) enormously productive and purpose-driven life.

The reality of the punishment of the grave

By Mawlana Saanwal ibn Muhammad / 26 Oct 2013

It is the belief (aqidah) of the Ahl al-Sunnah wa ‘l-Jama’ah that the punishment in the grave is a reality which is proven from the Qur’an and ahadith. Hereunder are some references.

Verses from the Qurān:

النَّارُيُعْرَضُونَعَلَيْهَاغُدُوًّاوَعَشِيًّا. وَيَوْمَتَقُومُالسَّاعَةُأَدْخِلُواآلَفِرْعَوْنَأَشَدَّالْعَذَابِ

"And the Moon is eclipsed, and the Sun and the Moon are fused together, on that Day man will ask: "Where can I run?" No indeed! There will be no safe place. That Day, the only resting place will be your Lord." (Surat al-Qiyama, 8-12)

Life and the Last Day

By Muhammad Abdel Haleem / 9 Mar 2013

In the Qur'an life in this world is an inseparable part of a continuum, a unified whole - life, death, life - which gives our life a context and relevance. In this context, the life of the individual is made meaningful and enriched inasmuch as it is full of 'good works'. Life in this world leads to the afterlife, a belief which is fundamental in the Qur'an. The afterlife is not treated in the Qur'an in a separate chapter, or as something on its own, for its own sake, but always in relation to life in this world.

What is Tawheed?

By World-Insights / 5 Jan 2013

Tawheed is the most important Islamic belief. It implies that everything in existence originates from the one and only Creator, who is also the Sustainer and the sole Source of Guidance. This belief should govern all aspects of human life. Recognition of this fundamental truth results in a unified view of existence which rejects any divisions of life into religious and secular.

Cheating and Deception

By IslamReligion / 28 Dec 2012

Cheating and deception are despicable characteristics that are beneath a decent person. Intentionally distorting the truth in order to mislead others contradicts the values of honesty, which requires an attitude of sincerity, straightforwardness, and fairness that leaves no room for cheating, lying, trickery, or deceit. There are many texts from the Quran and the Sunnah conveying the meaning that cheating, whether the target be Muslims or non-Muslims, is forbidden.

Prophecies of the doomsday on Friday, December 21, are meeting rejections from Muslim scholars as a “big lie”, criticizing the media for creating panic and terror among the public.

“No one knew about the exact date and time of Doomsday,” Qari Muhammad Hanif Jalandhri, a top official of the Wafaq-ul-Madaris Pakistan, the largest federation of Islamic seminaries around the world, told Pakistan’s The News daily on Sunday, December 16.

The Seven Under the Shade of Allah (SWT)

The Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h.) said: "There are seven whom Allah will shade in His Shade on the Day when there is no shade except His Shade: a just ruler; a youth who grew up in the worship of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic; a man whose heart is attached to the mosques; two men who love each other for Allah's sake, meeting for that and parting upon that; a man who is called by a woman of beauty and position (for illegal intercourse), but be says: 'I fear Allah', a man who gives in charity and hides it, such that his left hand does not know what his right hand gives in charity; and a man who remembered Allah in private and so his eyes shed tears.'"
