Saudi Ithra makes it to World’s Greatest Places' list

The King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, (Also known as Ithra) was selected for Time magazine’s premier World’s Greatest Places 2018, a compendium of “100 destinations to experience right now.”
 
Featured in the August 24 issue, the list highlights 100 sites spanning six continents and 48 countries, selected across a range of categories and evaluated for quality, originality, innovation, sustainability and influence.
 
 

Celebrating non-Muslims festivities is forbidden

     Praise be to Allah, the Lord of Creations, and Peace and blessings be upon our prophet Muhammad, the faithful and the honest.

    O, Allah, we know nothing but what You teach us. You are the All- Knower, the Wise. Oh Allah, teach us what is good for us, and benefit us from what You taught us, and increase our knowledge. Show us the righteous things as righteous and help us to do them, and show us the bad things as bad and help us to keep away from them.

If you walk intently in the bazaars of the bustling metropolis Karachi, you'll see scores of Afghan refugees trading and selling merchandise. Sporting a four-finger-long beard, often colored in henna, they integrate well in the society and speak the local language proficiently. But not all Afghan refugees have settled so well in the society.
