In Islamic sciences, all knowledge of the religion comes back to two sources: the Quran and the sayings and doings of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ– the hadith. The Quran is of course considered the un-changed word of Allah as revealed to Prophet Muhammad ﷺand is thus the foundation of all Islamic knowledge. Second after the Quran is the example set forth by the Prophet ﷺ.

as-Salaam Alaykum: Could you please provide the evidence of the Shafi’i school for sitting in tawarruk in the last rakah of every prayer? May Allah give you tawfiq.

Haddab ibn Khalid and Shayban ibn Farrukh narrated to us: they said: Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us: from Thabit al-Bunani and Sulayman al-Taymi: from Anas ibn Malik: that Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and grant him peace) said:“I came – and in the narration of Haddab ‘I passed’ – by Musa the night I was taken on the night journey (Isra’) at the red dune and he was standing, praying in his grave” (Sahih Muslim)
