Arabia’s Madani Script: From handwritten origins to the digital age

Ancient Arabic scripts are distinguished by their beauty and diversity, and the Makki and Madani scripts were the most prominent versions throughout history. The Madani script, in which the Qur’an, the Sunnah, and the Prophet Muhammad’s correspondence with kings and presidents were written, is particularly notable.

There are many opinions concerning the origins of Arabic calligraphy. Some scholars suggest it goes back to Ismail, son of the Prophet Ibrahim. Others say it came from the Nabataeans in the 4th century BC.

The Golden Horde and Islam

When studying the history of the Golden Horde, Russian school textbooks, as a rule, do not see a special difference between Mongols and modern Tatars, and this in turn leads to such a widespread, but obviously erroneous view that the warriors of Khan Baty represented the Muslim army.

This opinion is formed as if by default. An in-depth approach to the coverage of this topic in the study of the Golden Horde period of Russian history is practically absent.

Murat Ramzi - the great son of the Bashkir people

Often the life path of talented and extraordinary people develops dramatically and even tragically, and we are not surprised that they have to overcome severe trials and losses.

But forgetting the personalities who made a significant contribution to culture and loss of their names from the historical memory of people - is this not the most bitter injustice?

The ancient and mighty roots of Islam in Russia. Saksin - a city-state

A little-studied page in the history of independent state formations in the Lower Volga region prior to the appearance of the Golden Horde is Saksin.

The emergence of this city-state is associated with the dissolution of the Khazar Khaganate, one of the most powerful states of its time, on which virtually all nearby tribes and peoples depended, from the Bulgars to the Slavs. But, like most empires, whose rulers forget about the moral and ethical foundations, Khazaria also fell under the blows of the more successful neighbors.

Pride of the Ummah. Marjani

Marjani is a religious figure, an educator, a philosopher, a historian. The above definitions do not fully cover all aspects of his multifaceted activities. Marjani is also an ethnographer, an archeographer, an orientalist and an educator. The encyclopedic nature of his knowledge can be compared with the encyclopedicism of the French enlighteners of the eighteenth century - Diderot and Rousseau.

The ideology and historical legacy of world maps

The maps that were in the possession of Western nations were sometimes used to show the lands that were to be colonized and, sometimes used as an instrument of balance to overshadow the truth in their favor.

Up until the 15th century in Europe, the earth was considered and accepted to be circular in shape and flat.  The world maps that were drawn in this period, consisted of circles that had lands which were separated by seas and rivers similar to a 't' section.
