Trustworthiness

Source : Islamweb.net / 27 Mar 2013

If your colleague or friend gave you a sum of money that he is afraid to lose and you kept it with you just as you keep your own money, and later you gave it back to him once he asked for it fully and intact, then you are a trustworthy person and faithful.

The Excellence of Learning the Quran

Source : Islamweb.net / 20 Mar 2013

The Prophet Muhammad,  sallAllahu alayhi wa sallam, received the revelation of the Quran from Jibreel (Gabriel), may Allah exalt his mention, and conveyed it to people as it was revealed to him from His Lord. He urged his companions, may Allah be pleased with them, to learn and memorize it. A number of companions competed in memorizing and learning it, such as Ubayy Ibn K`ab, `Abdullaah Ibn Mas`ood, Zayd Ibn Thaabit and Mu'aath Ibn Jabal, may Allah be pleased with them. The Prophet, sallAllahu alayhi wa sallam, was proud of them and said:

“Learn the recitation of Qur'an from four: `Abdullaah Ibn Mas`ood, Saalim, the freed slave of Abu Huthayfah, Mu`aath Ibn Jabal and Ubayy Ibn Ka`b.”  [Al-Bukhaari and Muslim]

Belief in the Angels

Source : Islamweb.net / 14 Mar 2013

Allah, the Almighty, created various types of creatures, both visible and invisible.

We can see the sun, the moon, the mountains, the rivers, trees, animals, birds, and fish. Even the minutest creatures that we cannot see with the unaided eye such as germs, bacteria, microbes and the particulates of matter can be seen and recognized through special equipment that magnify them hundreds of times.

Mosque Etiquette

It is important to be respectful when entering one of ‘Allah’s houses’. When a person visits a masjid/mosque for the first time, it is often very daunting. You know that there must be many rules, customs and etiquettes, and you don’t want to offend anyone or break any rules, but it takes time to learn what these are. What we present here is not an exhaustive list of such things, but hopefully we can explain some of the main things to be aware of. If there are any mistakes, or if you have anything to add to this guide, please let us know.

Reading the World With Your Kids

Throughout the school year, parents usually ponder the skills that their children need to develop. Many parents choose to practice reading with their children, knowing that better reading skills bring better achievement in school and better understanding of life.

But, you ask, “How, in my hectic schedule, am I going to fit in time to sit down and read with my kids every night?” The solution is not to relegate reading to a specific time and place each day.

The Boy and the Dog

Source : It-haaf / 5 Mar 2013

Once Abdullah Bin Jafar (may Allah be pleased with you) was passing through a forest when he went by an orchard where an Abyssinian (Ethiopian) slave was working. Someone brought him his food and, at the same time a stray dog came into the garden, and stood by the slave, who threw a loaf of bread to the dog, which ate it but did not go away. The slave-boy threw it a second loaf and a third one, thus letting it eat the whole of his daily provision of food, keeping nothing back for himself.

What is Islam?

Source : Agencies / 4 mar 2013

Islam means submission to Allah and obedience of His orders, worshipping Him alone sincerely and abiding by His Laws (Sharia').

Allah sent Muhammad, sallAllahu alayhi wa sallam, with the religion of Islam. His Message was the last of all messages, and was intended for all mankind every where and during all times. Allah took it upon Himself to preserve and protect this Message from all distortion, change or deformation. The foundation of this last Message is the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet, sallAllahu alayhi wa sallam. Allah says (what means):

{It is He who has sent His Messenger with Guidance and the Religion of Truth. That He makes it prevail over all religion}[Quran 61:09].

3 Questions

Source : Islamawareness.net / 2 Mar 2013

There was once a man who was an enemy to Islam. He had three famous questions that no person could answer. No Islamic scholar in Baghdad could answer his three questions...thus he made fun of Islam in public. He constantly ridiculed Islam and the Muslims. One day a small boy, who's age was 10, came along and heard the man yelling and screaming at Muslims in the street. He was challenging people openly to answer the three questions.
