Ukrainian citizens are mostly opposed to the country joining NATO, the Razumkov Center sociological service said, citing its April poll.

Joining NATO is supported by 67 percent of citizens in western Ukraine and 46.9 percent in central Ukraine (with 27.7 percent against), the poll showed.

Meanwhile, most respondents in southern and eastern Ukraine (60 percent and 68.4 percent, respectively) said they would be opposed to Ukraine's membership in NATO. The survey was held on April 25-29 and involved 2,012 respondents, who were over 18 years old in all Ukrainian regions, except for Crimea.

The sampling error does not exceed 2.3 percent with 0.95 percent probability.
