Uzbekistan delegation visited St. Petersburg

A high-level delegation from the Republic of Uzbekistan paid an official visit to St. Petersburg on Monday this week, Islam.ru website reports. Within the framework of the visit the delegation came to the St. Petersburg Cathedral Mosque, where they met with the Mufti, Chairman of Muslim Religious Administration of St. Petersburg and the North-West Region of Russia, Sheikh Ravil-Hazrat Pancheev.

The delegation from the Republic of Uzbekistan consisted of the Advisers to the Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development, representatives of the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan, as well as the Consul General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in St. Petersburg, etc.

Mufti Sheikh Ravil-Hazrat Pancheev received the honoured guests at his office. During the conversation Pancheev told the guests about the history of the once imperial and capital mosque - the St. Petersburg Cathedral Mosque.

The meeting took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation, and exchanged memorable gifts as well. At the end of the meeting, the guests were given an excursion around the holiest place for Muslims in the Northern capital of the Russian Federation.
