Tatarstan State Council approved an address to the peoples of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea at extraordinary meeting.

The parliament expressed its concern over the social, political and economical situation, reproving the violence and stating the infeasibility of making political decision to suit certain groups, calling on all the opposing forces to solve the internal conflicts peacefully, through political and diplomatic means.

Tatarstan parliament calls for “Ukrainians, Russians, Crimean Tatars, all the peoples of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, to retain interethnic and interconfessional peace and accord, to refuse radical means to solve the conflict.”

Also, the State Council called for the Crimean authorities to ‘resolutely condemn the power methods used by all sides of the internal conflict.’

“We support the resolution of the conflict with the Crimean autonomy’s constitutional and legal status intact,” the message reads.

Tatarstan State Council considers it vital to use the peaceful mechanisms of rule of law and unshakable principles of human rights and freedoms observance stated by UN’s main documents.

The address will be sent to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chairwoman of Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko, Chairman of State Duma Sergei Naryshkin, as well as to Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
