Tatarstan Muslim community hosted the Festival-Contest of Spiritual Heritage Performers

Russian Islamic Institute hosted the final of the Festival-Contest of Performers of Spiritual Heritage Works “Ilahi Mon”. This year the competition was held for the fifth time. The guests and participants of the final of the competition were greeted by the rector of the Russian Islamic Institute, Rafik Mukhametshin. He noted that the festival allows preserving and spreading national, as well as religious traditions, which have deep roots.

The organizers of the festival were the Russian Islamic Institute, the Creative Studio “Gulzada”, the World Congress of Tatars, Muslim Religious Administration of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Institute of International Relations of the Kazan Federal University. This year, the organizers of the festival included the Resource Center for the Implementation of Innovations and the Preservation of Traditions in the Sphere of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Bulgarian Islamic Academy, the Institute of Language, Literature and Arts named after A. G. Ibragimov of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan.

During the final of the Festival-Contest, the jury members got acquainted with more than 40 performances. The contestants showed their skills in the following nominations: performance of works of oral folk art (munajats, baits, epic dastans, prayers, dhikr); performance of samples of book literary heritage (“Kyissai Yusuf”, “Badavam”, “Kisek-bash”, etc.); reading of the Koran in the tradition of the Tatar maqam.

The winners and prize-winners in each nomination received valuable prizes.
