Tatarstan Mufti took part in an interfaith hockey match

Kazan, December 27, 2019

An interfaith hockey match was held on the ice arena of “Zilant” sports complex in Kazan on December 27. The friendly match was attended by representatives of Muslim Religious Administration of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Kazan Diocese, as well as employees of the Department for the Development of Languages and Interaction with Public Organizations of the Office of the Executive Committee of Kazan.

The game was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the creation of the TASSR. The captains - Mufti of Tatarstan Kamil Hazrat Samigullin and Dean of the first Kazan District Archpriest Alexy Chubakov led their teams on the ice. The head of the Muslims of Tatarstan went on the ice under the 16th number in the red flowers uniform, and the opponents in blue uniform.

It should be noted that such meetings have become a good tradition in the region: representatives of two traditional faiths - Islam and Orthodoxy regularly hold joint sports events - volleyball, mini-football, etc. Within the framework of the current hockey match, both Muslims and Orthodox were also present in each team.

There was a bright, productive and beautiful game. Both teams now and then exchanged sharp attacks during the match. After the final whistle, the participants exchanged a traditional handshake and thanked the audience for their support.

Спортивный вечер закончился дружеским чаепитием участников матча, общением и обсуждением планов по проведению будущих состязаний.

The sports event ended with a friendly tea party for the match participants, where the parties discussed plans for future competitions.
