Stavropol Muslims urged to celebrate Eid ul-Fitr at home

The Muftiyat of the Stavropol Krai suspended worship in mosques and prayer houses during the celebration of Eid ul-Fitr (Uraza Bairam) due to the coronavirus infection spread. The decree of the Mufti of the region Muhammad-haji Rakhimov is published on the website of a religious organization.

“Due the difficult epidemiological situation, I hereby decree to suspend Uraza Bairam's festive services in mosques and prayer houses in the Stavropol Krai”, the document says.

A video message from the deputy mufti Zakir Sharypov was published on the official page of Stavropol Muslim clergy in Instagram, where he urged Muslims of the region to stay at home during the holidays of Uraza Bairam, congratulate the relatives on the phone, not to visit cemeteries and pray for the deceased at home. Sharypov also noted that mosques will be closed these days.
