St. Petersburg Muslims hold mini-football tournament

Saint Petersburg, August 20, 2019

Muslims of different nationalities took part in a mini-football tournament that was held in the city of St. Petersburg this week. St. Petersburg Open Mini-Football Tournament among Muslims gathered 12 teams at the city stadium Dynamo.

The Tournament was organized by the Muslim Religious Administration of St. Petersburg and the Northwest Region of Russia with the support of the St. Petersburg Sabantui Foundation and the St. Petersburg Football Federation.

In their turn Muslim Religious Administration of St. Petersburg and the Northwest Region of Russia expressed gratitude to Rustem Sabitovich Aslaev who helped to organize and hold the tournament.

Mufti, Chairman of the Muslim Religious Administration of St. Petersburg and the North-West Region of Russia Ravil-Khazrat Pancheev addressing the football players noted that it was a good opportunity both to demonstrate one’s abilities and, together with the Muslim ummah, show the right direction for personal improvement.

“After all, the most important thing for us today is not a victory! But a good, friendly intention we have in this event. This is an opportunity to relax and have fun, and we have all the victories in life and there are even more to come”, said Mufti Ravil-Hazrat.
