Russia's President arrives in Dagestan with a working visit

President Vladimir Putin flew to the Republic on a working visit, according to Head of the Presidential Press Service Dmitry Peskov. The President is accompanied by Secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patrushev. Putin is expected to meet with the public of the Republic and hold a meeting on socio-economic issues.
At present, a meeting is being held in the White House building with the participation of the Interim Head of the Republic Vladimir Vasilyev.
Since the early morning, unprecedented security measures have been prepared in the central part of Makhachkala, involving large divisions of law enforcement bodies, as well as special services.
As President of Russia, Putin was the last time in Dagestan in February 2008, when visiting a number of military units in the North Caucasus, the Head of State arrived at the location of the 33rd separate motorized rifle brigade in the Dagestani village of Botlikh.
It is very symbolic that Putin began his Presidential Election campaign by visiting Bashkortostan and Tatarstan and now four days prior to the Elections the Head of the State visits Muslim-majority Dagestan.
