Russia - Islamic World summit to be held in Tatarstan in summer

This year the international economic summit “Russia - Islamic World: Kazansummit” to be held in a hybrid format - online and offline, Tatarstan Investment Development Agency (AID) head Taliya Minullina said on Tuesday.

In 2020, the Russia - Islamic World: Kazansummit was primarily postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic and then canceled at all.

“This year we plan to hold the summit both online and offline,” Minullina told reporters.

Offline events of the summit will take place on the territory of the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Center. All events, as Minullina emphasized, will be held in strict compliance with the requirements of Rospotrebnadzor.

Among the innovations of the current Kazansummit, the head of the AID named the appearance of a machine-building forum within the framework of the summit. According to her this year, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation plans to take an active part in the summit.

The international economic summit “Russia - Islamic World: Kazansummit 2021” will take place on July 28-30. According to the organizers, its leitmotif will be conscious consumption and creation. Among the key topics of the business programme are such traditional issues as Islamic finance and partner banking, the halal industry, youth diplomacy, export development, entrepreneurship and investment. The traditional exhibition Russia Halal Expo 2021 will be held within the framework of the summit, RIA Novosti reports.
