Rare copies of Quran at MIU exhibition

Uthmani Quran is the oldest extant manuscript of the Quran, stained by blood of third righteous caliph

Moscow Islamic University held an exhibition of rare copies of Quran, of which particular value was a facsimile copy of the early 20th century, the so-called 'Quran of Uthman, press service of MIU reports.

Uthmani Quran is the oldest extant manuscript of the Quran, stained by blood of third righteous caliph - Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him),” said imam Marat Arshabaev, deputy director of madrasa located on the territory of Moscow Juma mosque.

During the event, the Moscow Islamic University was given an exclusive copy of the Quran, published in Jordan and inlaid with pearl and ivory. Also, the visitors had opportunity to see a number of other rare copies of Quran from around the world and address questions to the imam.
