Putin, Erdogan discuss problems of Crimean Tatar community

Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan regarding the questions concerning the Crimean Tatar community, in light of the reunification of the Crimea with Russia, stated the press service of the Kremlin.

"On April, 17, 2014 on the initiative of the Turkish side a telephone conversation between the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister of Turkey, Rejep Tayyip Erdogan took place. Several aspects were discussed regarding the reunification of the Crimea with Russia, including questions relating to the Crimean Tatar community," the statement said.

Putin and Erdogan exchanged views on several issues in Russian-Turkish cooperation, including cooperation in the energy sphere.

In addition, the Russian president shared his evaluation on crisis in Ukraine, added the press service.
