Pilgrims from Russia will fly to Hajj bypassing Iran and Iraq

Makhachkala, January 9, 2019

In connection with the recent events in the Middle East and the recommendation of the Russian Airways to Russian airlines not to use the airspace of Iran and Iraq for security purposes, many pilgrims in Dagestan became concerned about regular direct flights from Makhachkala to Jeddah.

According to Marwa Tour, Dagestan Hajj operator, UTair Airlines has changed the route of Makhachkala-Jeddah that is not to fly over the territory of Iran and Iraq. The new route will go through Egypt and Cyprus. These adjustments will affect flights departing on January 10 and 11 2020.
