Muslims of Russia and Turkey developed new spheres for cooperation

Moscow, August 5, 2020 

Mufti of Moscow, the head of the Spiritual Assembly of Muslims of Russia (SAMR), Albir Hazrat Krganov, met with the adviser for religious affairs of the Embassy of the Turkish Republic in the Russian Federation, Mr. Omer Faruk Savuran.

The meeting took place in the office of the “Moscow Muftiyat” on August 5.

Mufti Albir Hazrat spoke about the activities of the SAMR and told the guests about the project “Strategy for the Development of Islam and Muslim Organizations in Russia until 2035”, as well as with an expert report “Issues of Observance of the Rights of Muslims in Russia”.

The parties discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation, including advanced training of religious figures, book publishing programs, the participation of the Turkish side in social and educational events held by the SAMR, as well as the charity initiative of the SAMR “We are together”, held with the support of the Department of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, which helped to distribute fresh meat to the needy, the disabled, large families, the unemployed and other unprotected people. The assistance was provided to about 450 families in Moscow and the Moscow region.

The meeting was attended by an employee of the Department for Religious Affairs of the Embassy of the Turkish Republic in Moscow, Rais Yanglitchev, Imam-muhtasib of the Moscow Region Daud Khazrat Mukhutdinov, Assistant to the Head of the SAMR, Denis Khazrat Mustafin and an employee of the International Department of the SAMR, Azamat Abdusalomov.
