The event was attended by 250 people including veterans of the national movement, scientists, teachers, journalists, artists, entrepreneurs, politicians and leaders of public organizations.

Organized on the eve of Kadir gedgesi ("Night of Predestination"), the iftar has traditionally begun with reciting azan and dua.

The Mufti of the Crimea Haji Emirali Ablaev addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. He thanked the guests of the iftar and congratulated them on the coming night of Laylat al-Qadr. The spiritual leader of the Muslims of Crimea called for paying special attention to raising children and enlightening the people. "Our strength in unity, the achievement of everyone - is the achievement of the people. More than one generation has grown in the Crimea, and our main task is to invest in our children such concepts as religious knowledge, morality, education, preservation of traditions. If today we are investing in our children, then in the future we will get a qualitative and useful result," the Mufti of Crimea said.

He also thanked the Head of the Republic of Crimea for assistance in resolving many issues and expressed special gratitude to the State Duma deputy from the Crimea Ruslan Balbek for help, support and assistance in matters aimed at the development of the Crimean Tatar people.

"Each of us must make our contribution to the development and prosperity of our people. May the Almighty accept your prayers," the Mufti said.
