Mufti of Dagestan awarded hero

Makhachkala, January 28, 2020

A taxi driver with two passengers in the cabin, trying to dodge the oncoming car, ended up in the channel of the October Revolution in Makhachkala. During the incident, a student of the law academy Akhmed Kuramagomedov was nearby. Without hesitation, the young man rushed to the rescue and saved the drowning people.

Today, January 24, the Mufti of Dagestan, Sheikh Ahmad Afandi handed the hero a letter of gratitude for the courage and dedication in saving human life.

The meeting was also attended by the Deputy of the Botlikh District Assembly Aliaskhab Magomedov.

In a conversation with the Honorable Sheikh, Akhmed briefed that he was the first to see a car tipping over into the channel and rushed into the water. There were three people in the car: a driver and two passengers, all survived thanks to the 23-year-old Akhmed Kuramagomedov.
Mufti of Dagestan, in turn, noted that this is an act of a real hero, emphasizing that it is not an accident that a person who hails from the village of Tlokh in the Botlikh district committed it.

“Tlokh is one of the most religious villages in mountainous Dagestan. I thank the villagers who give their youth such an upbringing.

When we save people, the Almighty also saves us. The young man saved three people, while he himself could suffer.

May Allah protect us from such tragedies in Dagestan, and if there happens to be such events, let there be more sons who would help out in difficult situations,” the spiritual mentor added.
