Mosques in Adygea to be opened soon

Maikop, June 19, 2020

On June 18, the authorities of Adygea considered the opening of temples and mosques located in the region. The request for the opening of churches and mosques, closed since the end of March, was sent by the Maikop and Adygea diocese, as well as the Muslim Religious Administration of Adygea and the Krasnodar Krai.

The municipality decided to resume the work of temples and mosques by the end of this week, while observing sanitary requirements. The religious institutions should have personal protective equipment and antiseptics as well.

Mufti of the Republic of Adygea and the Krasnodar Krai Askarby Kardanov told the Yuga.ru, that the services in mosques and prayer rooms would start on June 20, that comply with the recommendations of the Federal Federal Consumer and Human Welfare Oversight Authority. Those who come to mosque have to bring their own prayer rugs and maintain social distance.

At the same time, the cathedral mosque in Maikop remains closed in connection with a major overhaul: the floors, interior decoration, as well as the facade of the mosque are to be reconstructed.

“There will be a number of restrictions during the religious services. The Friday prayers remain suspended. We resume wedding ceremonies, but with a limited number of visitors”, said the mufti.

In addition, Muslim Religious Administration of Adygea and the Krasnodar Krai recommended the elderly people refrain from visiting mosques.
